Vance, George – Progressive Repertoire
George Vance’s Progressive Repertoire series has become extremely popular as a teaching method in recent years. These volumes are made up of solo
pieces of increasing difficulty, much like the Suzuki method volumes for piano or violin.
These volumes fuse traditional bass technique with the Suzuki repertoire and the teachings of Francois Rabbath into an extremely effective method.
This series is made up of six books in three volumes, and each volume is packaged with a CD containing performances of all tracks
by bass virtuoso Rrancois Rabath.

Zimmerman, Frederick – A Contemporary Concept of Bowing Technique for the Double Bass
Frederick Zimmerman’s A Contemporary Concept of Bowing Technique for the Double Bass remains one of the most compreensive and useful studies
of the role of the right arm in double bass playing. Often jokingly referred to as the “A and E book” (if you’ve used it you’ll know why), an
intelligent application of the materials presented in this volume can be invaluable in developing a stunning and sophisticated bow technique.
