The Colburn School
A really outstanding institution for a serious double bass student to consider is the Colburn School in Los Angeles, CA. This school seems to be a West Coast Curtis Institute. All students receive full support (tuition, room and board) and study with the best in the business. Paul Ellison and David Moore are the bass teachers at the Colburn School, and both have really outstanding reputations as bass teachers. I would recommend that any serious student of the double bass give this institution their consideration.
