I was recently made aware of this excellent website maintained by Chicago Symphony Orchestra violinist Nathan Cole. His site contains stories about his life in the world of music, a journal containing his daily violin practice thoughts and reflections, and articles about playing, teaching, and learning, as well as personal photos from the different stages of his musical life. Nate was a student at the Curtis Institute of Music, and he was principal second violin of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra prior to joining the Chicago Symphony. It is really interesting to get this kind of insight from a Chicago Symphony musician, and I hope that more classical musicians begin to start sites such as Nate’s.
