Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues will be playing this weekend at Oak Park’s beautiful Unity Temple. The Unity Temple was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 20th century, and it is really a magnificent building and a great place to hear a concert.

Unity Temple information from Wikipedia

I have seen several concerts at this venue, and it is an extremely intimate venue for the audience. The sound is spectacular–warm and full but very clear–and the venue adds a great deal to the performance. The following concert will be on the grounds of the Unity Temple, not in the building, but it would be a great opportunity to see this structure if you haven’t seen it before.

The Chamber Blues has a new violist–Doyle Armbrust. He and I went to Northwestern University together several years ago, and he is an extremely fine musician. Here is the Chamber Blues’ most recent announcement:

Chamber Blues is excited to announce our first concert with new violist Doyle Armbrust this coming Friday at the Unity in Chicago. If you haven’t heard us yet, this would be a great venue to see us play in an informal setting. This will be an outdoor concert and you can bring blankets, food, etc. Look forward to seeing you.
