Our first peformance of The Student Prince by Sigmund Romberg was last night in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. The piece is very charming, and the cast and orchestra sound very good. Last year this festival was hit with record high temperatures, and one of the bass players actually passed out from heat exhaustion right before the second performance. The temperature last night, however, was perfect for playing a concert–around 70 degrees Fahrenheit and no wind to blow the music around. The areas east and west were smacked by thunderstorms (I had to drive through some pretty terrible rain to get there), but Williams Bay itself was nice and sunny. We have another performance this afternoon as well.

Here is a little video of the Auroura University campus. I will try to get some better shots today.
