Classic Contrabass website

Michelle Fiore, the owner of Classic Contrabass in Wheeling, Illinois, recently redesigned her website, and it is really excellent. I’d encourage any bass player (in or out of the Chicago area) to check it out. It is all done in Flash with a very elegant interface. Michelle is an excellent luthier. I have had her do a lot of work on my Lowendal bass in the past. She has also been a clinician and guest with me at the Whitewater Winter Bassfest at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

She also does great set-up work. I had her work on the playability of my Lowendal bass in the past and was very happy with the results. She also rents basses, and her rental basses play really well. String height is always very even and comfortably close to the fingerboard without any buzzing.
