Kaindy lake in south-east of Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is on many people’s minds these days thanks to Borat. I just saw this movie and never laughed so hard. Here’s the trailer for those of you that haven’t seen it yet:

While browsing around Wikipedia Commons recently I found this beautiful picture of Kaindy lake in Kazakhstan. According to Wikipedia, the mountain lakes form after the landslide blocks the mountain river. The sticks are dead Picea schrenkiana trees.
