Greg Sarchet sent me a link to the Iraqi National Symphony Blog recently. This is an interesting use of Blogger, and it is one that I have seen used in many Middle Eastern countries. The ease of use of Blogger and ability to quickly post text, photos, and other information are among the attractions of this service. This site is not really a blog in the traditional sense, but it is rather a place to archive a vast amount of information on the Iraqi National Symphony. Check it out here–it is full of fascinating information.

Blogger provides a free service that allows users to post basically an unlimited amount of information in an anonymous or semi-anonymous fashion. It is a great solution for people who do not have the means or the ability to set up a traditional website.

Many people do not realize that a blog is simply a traditional website with some specialized software installed. It makes it very easy to update a page with new information and provides tools to easily archive and organize information. More and more “traditional” websites (CNN.com, NBC.com, Yahoo.com, etc.) are beginning to resemble blogs in their organizational structure.
