This note was on the stands of the entire orchestra at a gig I played last night. It was for a piece that we hadn’t rehearsed but would be playing as an encore that night. This was the flowchart describing which repeats to take and which parts came in what order. The entire orchestra nailed it. It’s just an example of what is learned on the job–you don’t get taught this in school.

Hilarious. If tomorrow night weren’t my first time subbing in a certain major symphony I’d definitely bring copies of that for each stand.
I spent about five minutes looking at it last night and still wasn’t totally sure what was going on.
Haha, I do that sometimes before I gig for weddings and such. I like to add pictures and weird symbols so that anyone looking over my shoulder will be thoroughly confused. 😛
If you really want to be evil, change a bunch of accidentals in orchestra rental parts before they are sent back. Not that I ever have…
