While on tour in Russia (see my previous story about my Russian tour) I had the opportunity to ride the subway in both St. Petersburg and Moscow. The following video of the Moscow subway shows a station that is certainly more crowded than any I ever entered, but I do remember being pushed and shoved by huge throngs of people, so it is probably fairly common for this kind of insanity to happen:
