Singapore Bass Quartet

My bass blogging buddy PY sent me a link to her Singaporean bass quartet rehearsing an Irving Berlin rag. They are all amateur bassists from Singapore, and I think it sounds great. I hope theyalso put up pieces from the concert on YouTube.

Demotivational Posters

I love these demotivational posters. Dark Roasted Blend, one of my favorite blogs, just did a post with them which reminded me of some of my favorites. You can find more from Despair.com.

Duet for Violin and Bass by Chris Wind

Here is an unusual piece–this duet was originally written for either violin and cello or else as a duet for two kazoos! This performance is by violinist Perry Ho and bassist Jacky Wu. They recently performed the piece at the Canadian Contemporary Music Showcase.

Texas Tech University Music Theory Blog

I am planning on adding a large number of downloadable double bass MIDI practice tracks. This makes much more sense than putting up Finale or Sibelius files. [...]

Blog Functionality Example - Cow Country Bass

Here is a sampling of the bookmarking section on [...]

Click for Lessons

Bassist Drew Davies also runs a company called Click for Lessons. This is a service that will match up students and teachers for various instruments. The service is not just for music–I see that you can find lessons for salsa dancing, ballet, acting lessons, and the like. I was just playing around [...]

Check out the set up of this orchestra. The basses are all lined up along the back of the ensemble. Some of them are really getting into the Plink Plank Plunk!
