I got a great comment from the Texas Tech University Music Theory Department Blog recently related to one of my articles on freelancing. I definitely appreciate the mention and agree with his elaboration on some of the challenges that musicians moving to a new city face.

What a cool idea for a blog! Blogger makes it really easy to set up a blog for an entire department or group of people. Once you create a blog, there is an option to invite collaborators. Enter their e-mail addresses and Blogger sends them an invite. The invited people can then contribute posts as well. At the bottom of the post it specifies the post author, thus making clear who wrote the various contributions. It is a great and easy way to create a collaborative resource.

The new Blogger (I sound like a Blogger fan boy today) also allows you to limit who has access to a certain blog. This could prove to be very useful to schools. A classroom blog could be created with all of the students as collaborators, and then restricted so only students and parents of that classroom could view it. This is a great way to incorporate the value of something like a blog in a classroom setting without throwing it open to the whole wide world.
