I just added Chicago jazz and classical bassist Kells Nollenberger’s MySpace page to the Double Bass MySpace archive. Kells is an awesome jazz and classical double bassist, and he also has done a ton of electric playing as well. Check out his MySpace page here.

Kells was the bass player in Ted Atkatz’s band NYCO which I mentioned in a post earlier this week. He took over the spot after Chicago Symphony Orchestra bassist Rob Kassinger quit the band. It is rare to meet a player that functions at a high level of proficiency as a classical bassist, jazz bassist, and electric bassist, but Kells definitely fits the bill.

Kells hails from Duluth, Minnesota, which is even colder than my hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota! That place makes Chicago look like Miami in terms of weather.
