I recently created a section on the blog specifically for educators. There is a lot of material buried beneath he surface of this blog, and it is my hope to make this material more accessible to both teachers and students. This page will act as a portal to the more educational resources, and I hope that people find it helpful. This page can be accessed under Blog Features in the sidebar.

One of the new features that I am going to be rolling out on the blog here in the next week or so is a MIDI and Finale file archive of double bass excerpts., as well as a significant expansion of MP3 practice tracks for orchestral excerpts. Contrabass Conversations guest Andy Anderson has provided me with a wealth of practice material for double bassists, and I am in the process of uploading this material and putting it into a navigational structure. I’ll let people now when this is done, and I will make sure that this material is easy to access.

I think that providing this sort of material will be very useful to the bass community. Andy has done a great job creating these files, and I’m thankful that he has generously agreed to share all of his efforts.

I am also adding a few new pages to the Bass Blog Recital Showcase, and I’ve got some new excerpt-related additions that I think the community will find extremely cool.
