There are only a few days left to register for the International Society of Bassists Orchestral Competition occurring during this year’s convention in Oklahoma. Here is some information about this event:

Gottfried Engels, Düsseldorf Symphony and University of Music, Cologne
Robert Kassinger, Chicago Symphony
Jeremy McCoy, assistant principal, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
Nicolas Tsolainos, principal bass, Dallas Symphony

The first prize will be a week’s paid internship with the Dallas Symphony, as well as a new bow by Carbow. The second prize is $1000, and the third prize is $750.
