Jascha Heifetz plays Mozart

One can learn so much about good string technique from watching Jascha Heifetz perform, and this video offers a great chance to check out his bow technique. The power of YouTube to both entertain and educate is truly amazing, and I hope that small minded media giants (i.e. Viacom) get off of their high horse and embrace this new era of video sharing for what it is.

Being able to see a couple of minutes of Jascha Heifetz playing violin just by clicking a button on a web page is, to me, one of the marvels of our modern technological world.

Oh yeah, the crispy spiccato done with the middle of the bow. I like dramatic Mozart not the sissy kind.
The first piece in that show…around the Prokofiev he was really warmed up.
