National Symphony Orchestra Principal Bassist Robert Oppelt recently started a website that I think bassists out there would be interested in checking out. In addition to containing biographical information and a great photo library (click here to check out photos of double bassist Ira Gold dressed as Borat), Robert is starting a ‘tips library’ containing answers to questions posed by double bass students. If you would like to ask Robert a question, go on over to his website and click the ‘e-mail’ link.

I think that this is a great idea, and getting a chance to ask the Principal Bass of one of the most prominent orchestras in the United States is an opportunity that students shouldn’t pass up. I will put this website in my Blogroll in the lower part of the sidebar on the left side of this blog. Check it out there, or visit Robert Oppelt’s site here.

Check back tomorrow for an interview with Ira Gold, one of Robert Oppelt’s colleagues in the National Symphony. This interview should prove to be a great supplement to the education of a double bass student as well.
