if someone opens that door too hard, it’ll be a broken looking double bass.

Seeing the bass in the corner reminds me of that funny W.C.Fields short film “The Barber Shop” where he has a bass named Lena, leaning in the corner; there is another character with either a cello or another bass….and they put it in that same corner… next day there is a small pile of miniature violins at the foot of the larger instruments… “Lena, How could you?”
