l’orchestre de contrebasses

Check out this excellent video of L’Orchestre de Contrebasses–it’s like an MTV music video for the double bass. Can you recognize the tunes?

These guys are simply amazing and really know how to make their audiences like the bass.

They have dozens of sketches and tunes that are sometimes funny, serious, jazzy, and really poetic.

Some of you may not know it, but one of the original members was Renaud Garcia-Fons. Check out his website here: http://www.renaudgarciafons.com/

I like this very much. L’orchestre de contrebasses came to Singapore close to a decade ago, and I was so intrigued by the ensemble. :)
