Double bassist and blogger Matt Heller has been writing a very engaging narrative about his recent successful audition for the Calgary Philharmonic. This is a must-read for people thinking about a career in classical music performance. It is hard for someone who hasn’t been on the audition circuit to understand just how much work and dedication it takes to win a job, and how nerve-wracking the experience can be.
