HI Jason,
I am selling my son’s double bass. He studied for 6 years with Dave Young at Colburn, and is now entering his freshman studies in Music TECH AT CALARTS. He has moved over to the pop/ electric side of music and doing alot of work now on the engineering/tech side of the stage.
So not playing that bass much these days!
Over the years we have purchased various bows etc from Robertson and thought we would turn to you first in selling this instrument. I understand it is too late for it to go to ISB, but perhaps when you are back, we can discuss it?
It is a wonderful 150 year old Mittenwald, currently appraised at 30K$.
It is set up for great arco playing and has a very wonderful clean and deep sound. I have the full provenance and pics if needed. I can get it shipped to you if needed. It was purchased from someone who owned and played it for 50 years, in the BBC Orchestra as well as numerous Stevie Wonder and jazz albums. We have owned it for 3 years and taken perfect care of it.
Of course it comes with a deluxe padded case, but we do not have a shipping case for it.
Please call or email me with your thoughts.
Thanks!
