Technorati has a reputation for being easily taken advantage of in the blogging world. It is relatively easy to manipulate the system and artificially inflate one’s ranking. Check out these blog posts for more on this phenomenon:

Ultimately, whether one is #1, 50, 250, or 2500 doesn’t really matter. Would you rather put out content that is intensely interesting to 10 people, or vaguely interesting to 1000 people? Putting out content that is important to YOU is what makes blogging special.
