Only highly qualified applicants will be invited to this audition.
Final auditions for this position will be held in Seattle on Sunday, June 24, 2007.
Semi-Finals will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007.
Preliminary auditions may begin as early as Tuesday, June 19, 2007.
If a member of the SSO wins this position a section bass position may be offered.

A one-page resume listing recent orchestral experience, musical education, and audition experience placement must be received by Monday, April 30, 2007. If a tape resume is requested, it must be received by Wednesday, May 16, 2007. A repertoire list will be sent upon receipt of your resume. CURRENT CONTRACT INFORMATION – 2007-2008 SEASON (3rd year of 4-year agreement):
• 45 week season including seven weeks paid vacation, plus an optional summer Seattle Opera production;
• contracted assistant principal salary for 2007-2008 season: $81,090 ($1,802 X 45 weeks, $1802 X 2 weeks summer Opera minimum);
• contracted section salary for 2007-2008 season: $76,500 ($1700 X 45 weeks, $1700 X 2 weeks summer Opera minimum);
• workload and salary shared between the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the Seattle Opera Association;
• benefits include medical and dental insurance, pension, disability, life insurance, instrument insurance, and parking.
