Holly Mulcahy sent me a link to a really bizarre infomercial for a crinkly cat bag. The host has no idea what to make of this thing. I usually just give my cats paper bags to play with, and they seem just fine with that.

He’s clearly not a cat person, and that cat was clearly more interested in the toy than the bag. Poor guy. My kittens have large pieces of crinkled-up packing paper in their playground today, loads of fun and totally disposable. We won’t mention the pile of toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom this morning, though a more economical solution to cat pleasure than Crinkly Bags.
How old is this video? I couldn’t see his face entirely well, but the host sure sounded like Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs!
I’m not sure when this video was made. It could very well be Mike Rowe!
I would guess this video was made around 1992. According to a YouTube video I found of Mike Rowe selling a lava lamp is dated around that time period. If you look close you’ll see he’s even wearing the same tie. There are actually a number of Mike Rowe hosting on QVC videos on YouTube out there. Ah, the nostalgic era when Mike Rowe was allowed to wear clean clothes on television.
Here’s the lava lamp clip:
