Boguslaw Furtok (a great bassist who has been featured extensively on this blog) is also a talented composer as well as performer. This video (in three short parts) is a live performance of the fifth movement of his Bass Quartet N. 5, performed here by “The Flying Basses” (members of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony-Boguslaw Furtok, Cristian Braica, Simon Backhaus, Ulrich Franck). This video was recorded in Kronberg, Germany in 2006.

Hi Jason,
I’ve been looking for B. Furtok’s compositions forever and just can’t find them. I think they’re great! Where can I get his sheet music?
Thanks!
Daniel
Hi Daniel! I’m not sure where to find his music, but I’ll put the question out on Facebook and see if someone in the community knows.
I did find a set of his quartets:
