Summer has brought about much more free time for me, and I have been using it to get elbow-deep in code on my blog and work on a lot of background and interface stuff. You’ll probably notice some subtle changes, but I’ve also been working on some technical issues to get things loading faster and make options clearer for users.

A couple of things I’ve added:

  • Drop Down Menus – I took a lot of the long link blocks off of the sidebar and created some drop down boxes above the Contrabass Conversations banner. Hopefully this means less scrolling around to find what you need.
  • Twitter box – I’ve become a big fan of Twitter, a simple service to keep people updated on what you are doing. I find myself obsessively updating my Twitter feed, and you can see what I’m up to in the box just under the “Listen to the Podcast’ section in the sidebar. If you’d like to be my Twitter friend (it’s free, easy, and fun), just visit me at www.twitter.com/jasonheath.
  • New feeds for the blog – If you click on the ‘subscribe’ drop down menu you will see that there are options for subscribing to the whole blog or podcast or certain elements. If, for example, you only want to check out bass content on the blog, then choose the bass posts feed and subscribe in Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, Google Reader, Bloglines, Newsgator, or another such program. I also created feeds for bass videos, the podcast, blog comments, and the weekly wrap-up.
