Colorado Symphony bassist David Potter dies at 75

Adriel Bettelheim sent me this recent Denver Post obituary for former Colorado Symphony bassist David Potter. David was a well-loved bassist and teacher with former students in all corners of the country. Boston Symphony bassist Benjamin Levy is quoted in the following obituary from the Denver Post.

Ray Brown solo from Black Orpheus

Here is a video of the late jazz giant Ray Brown playing some solo bass on ‘Black Orpheus’ during his 75th birthday celebration concert. George Fludas plays drums on this high quality (both in terms of bass playing and production value) video.
