Double bassist Peter Lloyd has been hired to teach at Northwestern University starting Fall 2007. He will be replacing double bass instructor DaXun Zhang, who has accepted a faculty position at the University of Texas-Austin. A double bass teacher with the credentials of Mr. Lloyd should prove to be a great benefit to both students and institution.

Peter Lloyd bio:

Peter Lloyd has been Principal Bassist with the Minnesota Orchestra since 1986. Lloyd holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music. As a guest lecturer and clinician, he has presented master classes at the Juilliard School of Music, Philadelphia College for the Performing Arts, the University of Southern California, and California State University, among others. His professional experience also includes the Philadelphia Orchestra, Mozart Society of Philadelphia, Mainly Mozart Festival, the Marlboro Chamber Music Festival, Bravo! Colorado Chamber Music Festival, Music from Angel Fire Chamber Music Festival, and the La Musica Festival.
