The Virginia Symphony has an opening for per-service bass and will be holding an audition in early September. The orchestra states:

The Per-Service Bass position has a minimum 60-service guarantee over the 40-week 2007-2008 season, at $93.00 per service. The Symphony provides instrument insurance and 6% AFM pension, and per-service musicians may elect to participate at their own cost in the Symphony’s health insurance plan.
