I’d like to let readers now that Contrabass Conversations will be a part of Bass Musician Magazine, a bi-monthly virtual publication (free to subscribe) debuting this August. This online magazine has a huge amount of potential, and I am excited to see how it develops. Even though it hasn’t launched yet, you can get a sneak preview over at www.bass-musician-magazine.com.

We’ll be repurposing and refitting current and old Contrabass Conversations episodes to fit the format of the online magazine. The podcast itself will remain the same here and at contrabassconversations.com–weekly episodes featuring interview and music–but we’ll be predominantly covering crossover or jazz bassists rather than strict classical guests in Bass Musician Magazine.

Since I’m a classical player myself, guests for the podcast have tended to be from that area of the bass world, but I have many interviews lined up with jazz, bluegrass, and rockabilly bassists, so expect to see the diversity of guests continue to increase.

Current Contrabass Conversations listeners should still take a look at this magazine–it’s full of great content from a line-up of heavy hitters in the bass world–and the content that the podcast will put out there won’t be exactly the same as what you get through the current podcast.
