I conducted an interview with Minnesota Orchestra bassist Colin Corner earlier this week. Colin just finished his first season in this great ensemble, and he was previously a member of the Vancouver Symphony and Louisiana Philharmonic. We chatted about practicing, life in these various ensembles, basses, bows, strings, and similar topics. Look for this interview in the next few weeks!
Colin and I both own Jakstadt double basses with low B extensions, and we had a fun bass geek-out session playing around on each other’s instruments. I really love my Jakstadt, and it’s great to see players in major orchestras who feel the same way about this maker.
