I hope that readers enjoyed this week’s Contrabass Conversations interview with Chicago Symphony bassist Brad Opland. If you didn’t get a chance to listen to it, you can click here to check it out (or click the ‘play’ button in the sidebar while you’re reading the blog right now!).

We’ll be putting out the conclusion of our interview with Eric Hochberg around the middle of this week. You can check out the first part of our interview with Eric Hochberg here.

Why an interview episode mid-week? Well, I’ve been doing the math, and at the rate that we’ve been doing interviews, you’ll be waiting for a disturbingly long time to get the conclusion of some of the first parts of interviews.

When I started the podcast, I was worried about not being able to interest bassists in doing interviews. That has proven to not be a problem at all, and I have been doing more and more interviews every month. I was initially very conservative in the amount of content I would put out, worrying that I would run out of content and not have anything for new episodes. That is certainly not a worry anymore–I have an abundance of fresh content, almost more than I know what to do with, so I’m planning on cranking open the vault door a little more and letting some of this great content out a little faster.

So, in the interest of getting out content in a more timely manner, I am planning on doing an extra episode every couple of weeks. These episodes will be shorter than regular shows, with only an interview segment and perhaps a musical selection from that artist. This will help to keep content from sitting in the can for too long.
