After discovering this Maniac World post through Digg, I did some hunting and pecking, eventually finding the same video on YouTube (allowing me to embed it here). Zappa remains, in my mind, one of the great musical minds of the 20th century, a unique, compelling, and real voice, doing his own thing with integrity amidst a staggering variety of mid-to-late 20th century trends.

Frank Zappa videos have a funny way of getting pulled very quickly from YouTube, so watch this one while it’s still available. This is footage from Frank’s short-lived 1980s show “The Cutting Edge”, and his thoughts on the recording industry are just as true today as they were when this was recorded 25 years ago (if not even more so):
