Here is another clip from my demonstration/recital at the 2007 Silk Music Camp in Lisle, Illinois. I perform “Capriccio No. 2” by Louisiana Philharmonic principal bassist David Anderson. After the piece, I briefly demonstrate to the kids the techniques involved in this music.
I’ve got a few more clips from this recital that I’ll put out in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can check out my Ode D’Espagne or B.B. Wolf clips for the same event. Both are in a similar style, with a little jibber jabber from me plus a little double bass playing. Nothing Earth-shattering here, but I rarely do these sort of demo events anymore (I used to do one every few months), and it’s fun to put out a few videos of my own along with the torrent of other content you see here regularly.

Great playing Jason! I heard you perform an audio version of this piece a few months ago and purchased the music right away. You know how to bring out all of the important harmonics and accents; this piece suits you well.
Are you the same Jason Heath from the world famous Double Bass blog?!!??
Dear Jason,
great playing! You have got a very good technique not only in the left hand but expecially in the right hand: there are very difficult bow strokes that you play with an extreme simplicity.
BRAVO!

Mr. Heath I really enjoy your playing on this piece and am interested in trying my hand at it. Sadly I have been unable to locate any sheet music for this piece and was wondering if you knew where it could be found. Thanks!
