Video solutions to double bass bowing issues from Lyric Opera bassist Andrew Anderson

I just wrapped up a great session with Andy Anderson, who readers have heard from on numerous occasions in both interviews and recitals. Soon you will get a chance to see Andy demonstrate how he teaches all sorts of concepts on the bass, from basic concepts like holding the instrument to in-depth coverage of spiccato and example practice strategies for students.

We’ll put this video up here, on YouTube, and in the podcast, so stay tuned to the blog for more updates on this great new project. We got a solid couple hours of footage which I will now edit down to easily digestible video segments.

If you haven’t heard Andy play or talk about the bass, check out all of his Contrabass Conversations contributions here.
