Watch all our video episodes in the new bass blog video player

Check out the new little video player just below the tabs at the top of this page. I just added this new feature to the blog and, I’ve got to say, this thing is cool. It contains all of the videos we’ve put out for the blog and for Contrabass Conversations, and you can simply hit the forward and back track selectors to choose a new video.

Don’t want to watch them in a microscopic little screen? Then just hit the rectangle. Poof! Full screen! Hitting ‘Escape’ pulls you back into the blog.

This little player will contain all of our content going into the future, making it quick and easy to find all bass blog and Contrabass Conversations footage (and we’ve got a lot in store for you!).

We’ve also added the Blubrry podcast player to the sidebar, which is an extremely easy way to listen to any podcast episode. Just click the button in the sidebar for the podcast player–it will open in a new window and play any episode of your choice, and you can surf on the blog (or even over to other sites) while keeping the episode going. Very slick and very cool.

I am forever tweaking the blog. Coming home late at night (with blogging the furthest thing from my mind), I’ll look at the layout, thinking “hmmmm….” and before I know if I’ve gotten sucked it, changing a font size here, moving a widget there, deleting something, adding something, etc.

Once I get done with it, I usually race over to Courtney and excitedly drag her over to the computer.

“Well,” I ask. “What do you think?”

Her response:

“Uuuuh… about what?”

I’m sure that Courtney’s reaction is similar to most readers–I’m probably the only one aware of all these little changes (faster page load, different sidebar layouts, eliminating redundancy while keeping things navigable), but I like to think that each one improves the overall user experience, if only subconsciously.

Well, even Courtney thought that these two new features (especially the video player) were cool, so I don’t feel so bad putting out a nerdy post like this highlighting these interface additions!
