Japan has a reputation for being especially receptive to double bass solo and ensemble music, so it’s no surprise that my first encounter with new tracks from the Bass Gang would be targeted toward Japanese audiences. Italian double bassist Vito Liuzzi pointed me in the direction of this new video from the Bass Gang. We’ve featured this ensemble on Contrabass Conversations episode 23.

Dear Jason,
just to tell you that now THE BASS GANG ‘s live DVD is A V A I B L E:
It’s a great and “big” show. It’s THE FIRST DVD in the history of times in which this Rock-Jazz-Pop-Classical …quartett of four DOBLEBASSES, plays live such an incredible pieces. I repeat: the DVD is on Surrond and DTS. Duration: 80 minutes. Just incredible, Jason.
It’s a new little piece in the History of Music, I’m sure about it. It a my own initiative to write these things. It’s my heart of Journalist registered in In Italy.
My best regards (or Ciao! Hi!)
