As my schedule eases up (in some ways) for the remainder of the fall, I am finding the time to take care of the extremely important but mind-numbingly tedious tasks that have accumulated on my to-do list.  The longer one blogs (and podcasts, and does all of the other online stuff that I do), the more one realizes that the back end technical stuff takes a humongous amount of time and often produces only minor changes.  Still, this back end stuff must be done to keep a project moving forward, and I’m glad that I’m finding the time to take care of these tasks.

First of all, the Contrabass Conversations site has undergone a total revamp.  What started out one year ago as simply a website with links to all of the podcast episodes is starting to turn into a valuable resource in its own right.  Click the image above to visit the new site.  You’ll find the complete Hans Sturm and Andy Anderson virtual lesson videos in the sidebars, as well as having the option to view all episodes from a particular guest or on a particular topic easily.  We’ll be adding some new features in the near future, so stay tuned!

Sometime during the next year I will be doing a major redesign of the Bass Blog as well.  The current site, while certainly functional, is kind of held together by some digital paste and twine, and moving it to a more powerful content management platform would allow for a huge increase in functionality.  The only problem?  It will take me a solid week of being in front of the computer, fixing…coding….linking…etc.  I can’t afford the time now, but I’m working on carving it out of my schedule, and readers will definitely notice a difference when this process is completed.
