Interviewing Virginia Dixon for CBC podcast
->
I’m heading out the door right now to interview double bassist Virginia Dixon. Folks unfamiliar with this well-known Suzuki double bass pedagogue should check out Stan Haskin’s excellent series about her work with young bassists. This should prove to be a very interesting interview and a valuable addition to the virtual library of content being created for the Contrabass Conversations project.
I have been doing an interview nearly every day over the past week, and my vat of unpublished bass content is bursting at the seams, so expect a steady diet of new and interesting double bass interviews, performances, and videos in the coming days, as well as some new crazy gig stories from your truly.
I’ve had some very weird gigs recently….that’s always a sure sign that it’s time to sit down with the laptop, coffee in hand, and begin pounding out some new material.

Thank you so much for doing this, Jason - I really believe Virginia is doing things worthy of the attention of players and teachers alike!

Jason,
Isn’t there still a 3rd part to the Larry Hurst interview? When is that coming out??

I do have more Hurst content. I’ll try to get that out as a mid-week special. The backlog is growing for CBC, and I do still have some interviews that I have to finish putting out. Glad to hear that you’re interested in the rest of this interview–it was really great to chat with Mr. Hurst.
