Here are some stories that have caught my attention this past week.  Most of them could use a blog post all their own, but I seem to be spending all my time digging my car out of snowbanks these days, so these links will have to do:

  1. Danny Newman: 1919-2007 – This legendary promoter for the Lyric Opera of Chicago is credited with the invention of the subscription model for live performances with his launch of the first Lyric Opera subscription series in 1955. (more)
  2. Chicago Classical Music site revamp – This great collaborative blog for Chicagoland arts organizations just got a massive facelift.  It’s a great new look for a great Chicago arts resource.  I read posts from its contributors on a daily basis. (more)
  3. DoubleBass.Blip.TV – Would you like to watch all of our double bass videos in high resolution and with a very slick interface?  Just visit www.doublebass.blip.tv – it’s a very nice interface for out content.  All of this content is also available in the sidebar player for DBB.org and in the Contrabass Conversations podcast feed.
