____________

On Monday, we had Audition Day for basses here at Peabody. We heard lots of great bass playing, met lots of cool bass-playing guys and gals, and filled out lots and lots of extremely exciting paperwork (well, we faculty did, anyway…). As we all pilot our way through school auditions and school choices this Spring, I thought I might point folks to a series I wrote awhile ago about how to approach making choices about music schools.

Shopping for a Music School: Parts I, II, III, IV.

Enjoy and I hope you find it helpful. Do you agree with anything I wrote? Disagree? Think I missed something? Drop me a comment or email and let me know!

And most importantly, good auditioning, researching, discussing, and choosing to all – I hope everyone out there on the school audition circuit right now finds and ultimately attends the right place for them.
