Chatting with the Bad Boyz of Bass today

The bass world is small, and Contrabass Conversations is quickly helping to make it even smaller! We featured double bassist Anthony Stoops on the podcast last weekend (episode 67). Anthony is a wonderful bass soloist, teacher, orchestral player, and composer, as well as chairing the string department at the University of Oklahoma, and it was a blast to do this interview with Anthony!

Anthony also plays in the Bad Boyz of Bass, a quartet made up of David Murray, Paul Sharpe, Volkan Orhon, and Anthony that has performed in a variety of venues since its inception a few years ago. These are very entertaining guys, and we will be doing an interview with the quartet this morning which will air in the very near future on the Contrabass Conversations podcast network.

Check out these four fine bass players in a montage of highlights below (including ‘Stoops….I Did It Again!’), and stay tuned for what will surely be an extremely enjoyable interview!
