Ever since the very first few episodes, the Contrabass Conversations podcast has featured interviews with and performances from leaders in the double bass world. While this remains the main focus of the podcast, we’ve certainly branched out into different territory in the past year, including:

It’s now gotten to the point where we’ve got a wealth of submitted music from various bassists and not nearly enough podcast time to fit it all in. Therefore, launching a new series of special all-music episodes with a semi-regular (once a month or so) release schedule seems like a good idea. Now you’ll not only be able to get your bass fix via interviews and virtual lessons, but you’ll be able to kick back and crank up some bass-laden tunes with Eclectic Bass, our newest offering in the Contrabass Conversations podcast network lineup.

We’ll still be featuring music on the regular interview episodes (particularly when we’ve got music from the interview guest in question), but we will weave together all-music episodes both from folks who’ve been with the project for a while and fresh bass faces.

If you’re interested in having any of your music featured on Eclectic Bass, drop us a line! You can forward MP3s to jasonheath@doublebassblog.org or request a street address if you’d like to send a CD. As always, we link back to every artist we feature and give them props in the show dialogue, so this may be a good way to either spread the word about your group or feature a track or two from a recent recital.
