About Ali Yazdanfar

Ali Yazdanfar (pictured right), one of Robert’s section bassists in the National  Symphony, accepted a position as Principal Bass of the Montreal Symphony, and Robert recently published an interview he conducted with Ali as he prepares to move into this new position.  Check it out on Robert’s website here–highly recommended!

Ali has had a stellar double bass career to date, winning positions in the Houston Symphony and National Symphony as well as being the top American prize winner for the 2005 ISB solo competition.  Also, Houston and National were the first and second professional auditions he had ever taken.  Quite a track record!
