I’ve done a major overhaul of the doublebassblog.org user interface recently. Why? Well, I like to do some sort of design change every six months or so–it’s simply good web design protocol, and it keeps things from getting stale. Plus, web technology moves pretty darn fast, and there are a ton of new features that I’ve been itching to implement that my old design was inhibiting.

This new design has many advantages, including:

  • cleaner homepage
  • improved menus and usability
  • easier to read (better font size)
  • significantly faster load times
  • sidebars change depending on what you’re doing

Typically, these design changes are super-duper exciting to me and significantly less so for other folks–most people just want to read when they come here (or download, or listen, or.. OK, maybe people come here for a lot of reasons!), and this new redesign should make things much slicker.

There are probably a few rough edges here and there, but I should be ironing things out in short order, and I’m pumped to see how this new design moves the site forward!
