Jason, that story was amazing! And by the way, MYA summer orchestra is playing Bernstein's "Turkey Trot" this year and every time I play it I'm reminded of your story. :D Thanks for continuously churning out great double bass stories!

Jason! You should've just done what my dad does for the Portland Festival Orchestra... He just picked up a white lab coat. $20...light weight...machine washable polyester...it is pretty close to the real thing, only better!

Thanks, guys! Much appreciated. I suppose I should just bite the bullet and shell out some $$$ for a real white coat, but I always weigh what I'm making for the white coat gig versus the cost of a new white coat and end up cheaping out.

I hated white jackets and their gigs. Having to play in a tux is bad enough. I would always get my white jackets at the Salvation Army or some used clothing hole-in-the-wall shop where I was sure I wouldn't have to spend more than ten bucks.

Can we have casual day at the orchestra?
