I just discovered a new site called Behind the Notes through a recent article in Bass Musician Magazine. This site offers a variety of interviews with what on first glance appear to be mostly jazz artists. It’s a premium content site with some free content as well, and though it only offers a few features with bass players as of this post, I’m sure that their offerings will grow over time:logo.jpg

As a creator of similar content, you may wonder what I think about a paid premium content model for interviews. Well, I think that there’s a place for both paid content and free content, though I prefer to offer up all content for no charge whatsoever.

The only problem with my model for Contrabass Conversations is that, well… there’s no $$$ associated with this model! Having some revenue stream from this kind of content makes it more likely that it will continue to be around for the long haul. I plan at some point on serving up some advertising on Contrabass Conversations to generate some revenue–I’ve just been waiting for the show to develop and mature and for the right advertiser to come along. Many bass vendors are in fact a perfect fit for Contrabass Conversations, and it’s likely that we’ll begin running some ads on the program soon.

Interested in advertising either here at doublebassblog.org or on Contrabass Conversations? Drop me a line and let me know–I’ll be happy to fill you in on the various options.
