We’ve gotten a great response after sending out a request for volunteer transcribers for the Contrabass Conversations back catalog. This, to me, is a great example of how cool the bass community is and how folks will really step up to the plate for something in which they see value.
Darlene Marshall (an oboist!) has done some wonderful transcriptions of out video lesson series with Lyric Opera bassist Andy Anderson and University of Oklahoma professor Anthony Stoops, and bassist Satora Tagawa has started working on a transcription with Lawrence Hurst.

If you’re interested in doing a transcription of any of our Contrabass Conversations interviews, let me know! The only payment I can offer at the moment is a copy of my book Road Warrior Without an Expense Account or a Contrabass Conversations t-shirt, but if you’re up for it please let me know!

Dear Jason,
I think i can speak in the name of many Bassblog visiters,
Please transcrip the Contrabass Conversations episode #30,
the Great Guy Tuneh interview, he is not speaking about
one more bass school etc., he speakes about life as a bassist,
something that is not easy in a world of violin players… .
Its more useful and intresting… .
Other episodes would also be great.
Thanks, and this is a great idea!!
P.S.:
A little bird told me (Mr. Tuneh’s Official site), that he will participate in a Chambermusic festival in Italy next week,
I would be thankful in you will get some Videos or Music
from this performances.
Since Tuneh is alive performer he can be seen in live concerts
or videos that someone did.
(in program: Rossini Duetto, Dvorak G Quintet, Schulhoff trio,
Bottesini Duo with Violone, Bottesini F# minor bass Concerto and the Rococo Variation on bass.)
Whily.
INDEED,
Please post more from Guy Tuneh(he isnt abass player, he is a Violin player with a soul of an Opera singer!!!)
Hi Jason, sorry I haven’t sent another transcription, but school has started and I’m already pressed for time. I will still try to get more done, but it won’t be anywhere near as fast as before … 🙁
