		<description>hey jason,  excellent post as always.  here is one thing i would add tho:  to paraphrase a famous move line, &quot;i am shocked, shocked to find that people get gigs thru their teacher&#039;s influence.&quot;  What I mean to say is, for people in symphonies in particular, there is a certain amount of competition in terms of whose student gets the subbing and tenured gigs. If your teacher is the principal player of the local symphony, you will, in many cases, have a leg up on the competition.</description>
