This just came across my desk tonight–if you’re in the Chicago area and available this Friday (1/23/09) at 4:30 pm, come check out Chicago Symphony bassist Brad Opland (also a Contrabass Conversations guest and the featured bassist for our multi-part Exploring Chamber Music series):

Northwestern University bass professor Peter lloyd writes:

This is a reminder to all the bass students at Northwestern and an invitation for everyone else to come to the Bass Violin Master Class being given by Bradley Opland on Friday, January 23.

A graduate of the Curtis Insitute, Mr. Opland has been a member of the Chicago Symphony Bass
Section for 25 years. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to playing the bass violin and has performed and taught a wide range of repertoire for the instrument in a variety of settings around the world.

The class time and location are:

Friday, January 23, 2009
4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Northwestern University
Regenstein Hall, Room 143
